My landlord showed my apartment to new tenants right after I paid rent!
The first apartment my now-husband and I lived in was located above a retail store, offering affordable rent. I even worked with our only neighbor. For years, we believed everything was going well until the building owner announced plans to sell. After paying my rent on a Friday, I was informed about the sale. By Monday, I returned home to find the landlord showing our apartment to someone without any notice or approval. She brought four strangers into our home. This happened two more times before we decided to call the police and report her actions.
